settled in berlin!

well, if you call me sitting on a mattress with no sheets and with my stuff strewn all over my room "settled." and i've been here for two days already, haha.

the departure from marburg was bittersweet. i was happy to leave and move on with the rest of my year, but it was only in the last few days that i appreciated how truly beautiful the city was.
the view from our classroom:

the view to our dorm:

below is a picture of the teachers and some students. the woman in the red scarf and brown hair, sabine, was particularly fabulous. the one in the black on the very right is running the berlin marathon tomorrow (go nick!).

my apartment
(or, specifically wohngemeinschaft) is in a part
of the city with many immigrants and lots of people that wear sportsjackets (according to my roommate). lol. my roommates have been so far very kind about speaking german to me. occasionally though, i set myself up for a nice joke. over breakfast:

roommate: so do you think you'll take a german class?
me: i don't know, i need to review the different tenses. for example, i always mix up würde and wurde.
roommate: well, when you say them, they sound the same so you don't have to worry about mixing them up.

dooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom.

Uhh..actually, that picture is from the level 1 class. The level 2 class view was just of some people working on our windows. I guess that's kinda cool too.
