i first landed in mumbai on the 1st, that is, a few days after the bomb blasts. oh dear! well i figured right after a terrorist attack is the safest anyway, and went ahead. my uncle (i didnt get a chance to take a picture of him!) said that the average guy on the street isnt really affected anyway, since it took place in rich hotels. he did say, however, that if terrorists attacked the local trains within the city, then the whole city would stop. hmm.
mumbai itself is a really large (15 million people) and dynamic city (lots of enpreneurial spirit and industrious population). also chock full of "bombay brats," as my friend likes to call them (rich snobby kids who come from mumbai and treat everywhere else in india like a village).
when i left germany it was 3 degrees celcius, and when i arrived in mumbai it was 28! needless to say i looked really stupid while i was waiting for my uncle to get his car at the airport, because i was both sweating and carrying a sweatshirt, jacket, and scarf. :(
i was only there for two days, so nothing substantial to report.
MUMBAI CHAAT, a crispy, sweet, sour, everything in one snack. just amazing.
