neukoelln isn't known for much (except for having a lot of turks and unemployment) but i know (JUST KNOW) that there's this hidden party circuit to be tapped. and every so often i get one step closer.
1) the biggest tipoff was all these well dressed party girls that get off at a major junction before my house (hermannplatz) but more importantly, the party girls that get off after i do (there isn't that much beyond where i live...although apparently there is).
2) my roommate clued me into a rave going on in the abandoned beer factory behind my house...which i tried to go to, but apparently it was in one of the completely unlighted buildings where i didn't look. this is probably the dorkiest thing that's happened to me ever.
3) a guy at my local pub told me about another guy who is apparently "a dude to know" in nkln. =)
4) there was a controversial thread on couchsurfing about the "scene" in neukoelln - one frustrated (and probably antisocial) girl was complaining that there's "nothing" to do and "nowhere" to go. basically everyone attacked her listing things to do in nkln, and one guy mentioned secret electro parties.
i have confidence that these little bits of information will someday soon synthesize....
...but for now, i am going to visit one of berlin's more reputed clubs.
