hopefully when my father comes this november, i'll have a new camera. since i was so picture-strong the first few weeks, it feels odd and incomplete to post without pictures.
recent events:
*i added site-meter to this blog, so now i know exactly who is reading. *scowl*
*my french roommate can cook, and she said she'll help me learn, lol. in the chinese conception of food, you're supposed to have color, smell, and taste. i achieve none of these things. i tried making an indian dish from an instant packet and it wasn't bad, but it wasn't very good either. how do you mess up instant food?? that's how bad i am :(
*this past week was navarathri, and i went to celebrations here in berlin that i found advertised online. it was also the beginning of tapping into the indo-german community. german culture is pretty direct, and indian culture is very indirect - so i was wondering what their mannerisms would be like. but they didn't stand out as one or the other - just normal 20somethings. but they still do very german things, like comment on the fact that i'm wearing flip flops when it's "cold" outside. adoreable!
*monday nights are the highlight of my weeks here - that's when i go to the neighborhood pub to chill with my german buddies. this week though, one of my buddies was performing at with this indirock band that one of my friends was performing in. it was a lot of fun - but at the end the final band said something awkward like "this could been more fun, but that was up to you guys." uhh, what? lol thanks?
*my german is in this awkward place - im learning a lot obviously, but i also feel like it's slow as molasses. it's just kind of frustrating.

so that you don't have to check your KGB meter thing: some French dude (not your roommate) came here.
I want to come and listen to indirock and go to an Indian festival. You're making Berlin more glamorous and appealing than Paris.
Cheers!
lol nothing is more appealing than paris!!
